Every Summer, I look forward to attending various Music festivals. From Reggae and R&B to Folk, Rock, Blues and Jazz. Whatever the genre, music festivals have become a great way to experience new music, meet new people and see unique artists from around the world. While I've mingled, met new faces and attended my share of events and festivals around the globe, I've since discovered Jazz and it's Festivals as being a place of intriguing mystique. The attendees are usually artists themselves or art enthusiasts seeking to witness a plethora of scheduled performers and legendary musicians perform throughout historic parks and other public spaces. These Jazz musicians and vocalists have come to represent a time in history known as the Avant-Garde and for this reason, both curious minds and Jazz lovers travel for miles to see and listen to living legends like Dee Dee Bridgewater, Herbie Hancock, Wayne Shorter, George Benson, Ron Carter, Dianne Reeves, Charles Lloyd, Dr. Lonnie Liston Smith, Pharoah Sanders, Sonny Rollins, Gary Bartz, McCoy Tyner and many others.
